Eko and Mito


EKO and MITO are two graffiti artists that are part of the GVS, the oldest active crew in Portugal.

Mito is a street artist that spent many years graffiti bombing in different surfaces of towns. Nowadays his work has a more legal side, in the hall of fame. His technique consists on aerosol painting, with good colour combination. Photography is one of his many talents.

Eko concentrates more in painting the hall of fame. He considers graffiti a hobby, and a nice solution to get out of bad habits of the suburb life. He’s a solid artist with a constant but intentionally confusing graffiti line, in order to make it’s reading harder.

YOUTH


YOUTH is a one of the oldest Portuguese artists, from the 90’s. His work is still very respected nowadays. He became popular for his unique characters painted with aerosol with a chromatic decoration that’s breathtaking, and that can still be considered actual when they’re well preserved.

He doesn’t paint much on the streets nowadays, but still goes to a few national graffiti demonstrations, as a special guest.

His work has inspired many young artists nowadays.

UBER


UBER is an old school artist in the national graffiti.

One of the most respected artist of all times, due to his activity and quality in the 90’s, with works like Zé Povinho youngest son, spread all over the marginal avenue in Lisbon, and a lot of graffiti bombings with his name all over town.

TIME


TIME is a Portuguese artist from south Lisbon and one of the oldest and more outstanding writers of the country. He currently belongs to the LEG Crew.

His graffiti goes from graffiti bombing, which he has done as a CIA for many years, to the hall of fame, with the painting of nice letterings and characters, which is his current activity.

He’s an artist with a remarkable technique in every aspect. His work can be found in different walls all over the south side of Lisbon and some important walls in the centre.

He belongs to the VSP and has done many graffiti exhibitions and demonstrations.

TDK


TDK is a crew with a few years experience, made up of writers from the west side of Lisbon. TDK’s work stands out for always being very centred in bombing and tagging the city and train painting, making this crew one of the most inventive graffiti bombers in the country.

ROTE


ROTE is one of the creators of the GVS crew, and he’s also perhaps, one of the most active amongst the older artists, being in almost every hall of fame in the city.

Known for his huge wild styles, in which he complicates the reading of his letter, and also for having a thorough stroke and painting. Besides hall of fame, he’s also a national train graffiti bomber from the early beginning of graffiti in Portugal.

He’s still very respected in Portugal, for being around for a long time now, and for always being active. He lives graffiti intensely.

PARIZ


PARIZ is a Portuguese writer who belongs to the GVS Crew. He’s one of the most active artists right now in the hall of fame, and is known for his big and very colourful artwork, clearly “wild style”.

He’s a respected and travelled artist. His work is known in Portugal as well as abroad. Pariz typographic style can be very hard to read however his excessiveamount of use of colour in large areas make him great reference to this "wild style".

His technique is a mix, he uses any kind of paint, but he sticks more to the use of aerosol ink. He’s one of the few artists sponsored by the brand Molotow.

NCW


NCW is a classic of graffiti in Portugal. This is an old crew from the Cascais area. Although NCW is not currently active, some old work still exists. They left their mark in the area they belonged to and eventually became an influence to graffiti. This crew work is respected among the artists since they were pioneers in the national graffiti.

VNENO (MURAL)


This mural was made to pay homage to Vneno, a Portuguese writer who died while trying to paint a subway carriage by himself, in the Rato station. This mural was made at the time by some friends of him and other well-known writers so they could homage the artist called Miguel Ângelo. RIP VNENO.

MONSTER


MONSTER is a second generation Portuguese writer that has always been active. Born in Lisbon, his work has been around since 98. He paints graffiti bombings and halls of fame, among other things, and has now the most refined style ever, making him a reference of Portuguese graffiti. Besides graffiti he’s a designer and illustrator.
He’s a very complete writer and is part of the FG and LXUF crews.

MACE


MACE is another old school name. He’s one of the first graffiti artists in Portugal and one of the most important one of his time, due to his hard core side, representing Portugal in a few Iberic events of graffiti bombing painting and train graffiti bombing. Nowadays he’s still involved in a lot of projects related to the scene, paints many halls of fame, does demonstrations and also makes many exhibitions. He currently works under a different name well known in street art performances, Mosaik.

LIG


LIG is a Portuguese artist who comes from the latest graffiti generation. He’s one of the pioneers of the street art movement in Setúbal. Art student, we can find his figures in many walls, stickers and graffiti demonstrations in Lisbon. His work was part of a few exhibitions in the country. His technique goes from pencil to aerosol or even wall paint.

Hium


HIUM is a famous Portuguese writer from south Lisbon, where you can find most of his work. He belongs to the LEG Crew and has been painting for many years now and always with the highest quality. His work stands out for its diversity, quality and for being complete in the different parts of the underground movement. He has always done a bit of everything with quantity as well as quality, making him one of the best artists of the national graffiti. Besides walls, he also costume makes cars, sneakers, and everything you can imagine.

GVS CREW


The GVS is the oldest active crew in Portugal. Their work started in 1995 and it’s part of the early beginning of painting with aerosol. They are leaders in the art of tagging and train painting.

They have a lot of foreign members due to their cultural interchange and trips around Europe.

This crew is known internationally for its time of existence, for their publications in European graffiti magazines and also for the activity of its iconic members abroad.

Fraude


FRAUDE is a Portuguese bomber from south Lisbon. He belongs to the GVS crew and has always painted a lot of street graffiti, having his name spread all over the city and the country. He’s a solid artist with an unique style, and reaches spots with high visibility.

His technique consists on the use of aerosol cans and a lot of colour contrast.

Exas


EXAS is one of the very first graffiti artists in Portugal.

In the 90’s his name was all over town, with a superior technique in quality as well as style. This artist was, and still is, considered the King of the 90’s.

This recognition made him one of the most important artists in Portuguese graffiti and one of the most important influences in upcoming generations that followed.

Creyz


CREYZ is a Portuguese artist, old school, pioneer in a lot of graphic trends from Lisbon. He’s part of the GVS, the oldest active crew in Portugal.

His work is totally versatile and he’s one of the most complete and respected Portuguese artist. He’s known for his character designs, such as the dog, the three eyed space ships, and also his letterings, at same time complex and simple, but always with the same style.

He does a bit of everything, from graffiti bombing to the hall of fame, and his work is spread all over different cities and transports in Europe.

Chure and Elius



CHURE and ELIUS are two young Portuguese artists from the area of Lisbon that started to paint around the year of 2000. Since then, their work always strived for great technical quality.

They play with typography both in shape and colour. They use aerosol cans from different pressures in the wall. Along with work in walls, they also costume make sneakers, t-shirts, hats, etc.

1003 pv


1003 PV is a reference crew in Europe from the Lisbon suburbs. This crew is internationally known for its “toy style” characteristics, meaning they strive to get back to the origins of graffiti.

Their work is spread over different cities of the world, and stands out for its unmistakable style. Using the most primitive resources, such as car paint cans, or low quality materials, they keep true to best represent the most pure and original old school graffiti.

LIG

From the cave


FROM THE CAVE is a Portuguese artist from the east side of Lisbon. He started painting in 98, and since then has been an active writer in the city belonging to two of its best crews, under other names. His work is very versatile and shows almost everything from dolls, landscapes, etc. But the artist focus is on letters and its decoration.

His technique goes from pencil to any object that can be used to draw. He’s an outstanding artist in technique, and complete when it comes to graffiti, because he doesn’t stop at the hall of fame, or space decoration. He’s a good graffiti bomber both in lettering as in tagging, and also has exceptional characters.

He costume makes walls, pins and anything that can be painted, and he’s also great in digital graphic arts.

Tosco


TOSCO is an artist from the East side of Lisbon that has been painting for many years now, but only nowadays takes his art to a wider audience. Throughout his career he has used many different names. Never the less, in the past year he practically stopped painting letters to dedicate himself to painting big characters with an unmistakable and visually refreshing style.

This work was part of an event carried out by an art gallery, for the São Bento festivities week in August 2008.

Kenor


KENOR is an artist from Barcelona that takes his art to many different countries in Europe. His graphic work is unique and with a personal style.

He uses aerosol technique to paint his work in the city’s degraded surfaces.

In Lisbon we can see one of the artist work in the area of São Bento, painted during the festivities week of the city in 2008, with the support of the city hall.

Gladly we can see one of his pieces here in Portugal and inside the Ephemeral Museum.

Ephemeral Museum open two new “rooms”

The first Ephemeral Museum of the world, created by Pampero Fundación, expands its frontiers. After the success of its first edition at Bairro Alto, the museum now opens its doors in another place in the city: Amoreiras and São Bento. Here, new and classic, unite to promote the best of national and international street art.

With the same concept as the previous one, these areas where ) were elected as the new sites for the Museum’s, in his ambition of becoming the world’s largest street gallery. Here it’s possible to contemplate the work of various artists like Exas, Creyz, Rote, Eko and Mito, Time, Pariz, Youth, From the Cave, Mace, as well as the international Kenor.
